Fight boredom

Who would have thought in a million years peace and sanity would be found on these keys.

It’s funny how life makes a full circle. From the time we’re born with our loved ones around us to the time we must part and they congregate mournfully as we descend beneath the ground or turn to ash. They’ll always remember the day you were born and the date you move on. The years in between just become a summary you would find on the back of the novel of the last book you read. The day’s when you sat quietly together silent enough to hear a pin drop will be over looked by the time when you went to Disney Land. These may appear to be two obvious extremes. Why would you remember the quiet uninterrupted moments over the glitz and the glam? Sadly moments can no longer be intimate unless there is an outside factor stimulating your senses. Which then leads to a disease that has plagued the world, has gotten many in trouble for no good reason, has torn apart relationships, it is even the underlying reason why approximately 50% of the news is fluff. BOREDOM! This new found…or maybe not so new notion that one’s senses must be physically stimulated by an outside party at all times. Whether the outside party be human, or electronic if it does not exist in our lives for even 10 minutes, we sigh, get frustrated. Boys and girls what do we call this Boredom. But our mass producers are catching on. The creators of the ipod are by far not ignorant to this notion. As you walk down a busy street or ride the subway, train, or bus count how many people around you are listening to an ipod. Don’t get me wrong music is an essential part of life, but silence and undistracted thought is just as important. It’d be to easy to discuss the damage that your ear undergoes by the need to fill that soundless void.

If you really want to win the fight against boredom. Turn the Ipod off and make time to learn the foundation of music. An Instrument.
