Love, Music, and Dance

Love & Music?

That first glance says just as much as that first dance. The first time you lay your eyes upon one another. The first time your bodies move in synch to the rhythm. The moment your bodies intertwine and your destination is in the hands of the music surrounding you. And in that moment the fact that you and your dance partner are strangers doesn’t even cross your mind. With in the first step you take together on the dance floor, you let your guard down and all boundaries are set aside until the music stops playing. Although on the surface it may appear to be just physical attraction. The idea that a spiritual connection is made as you physically become synchronized is not to far fetched.

(Before I go any further by no means is this an invitation to take the number of every man or woman you meet at the club and hope that one of them must be your future husband or wife or even soul mate, still proceed with caution.) You’re in an isolated environment where the music has the majority of control over the mood and atmosphere of the people and the contained area. Music is the external factor that has engaged you and your dance partner.

Tired

Tired of dreaming

Looking around and everyone’s scheming

Dancing around in a carnal circle

These walls might as well be purple

Masses eyes clouded with thick haze

Common sense is the key to life’s maze

Oxy moron, cause basics is far from common these days

How do we continue living in these superficial ways?

Focusing on the collar

Letting it determine the weight of our dollar

20 centuries and our worlds in shambles

Death and taxes is becoming just another gamble

Public certainties are filled with hypocrisy

As society forgets the purpose of philosophy

Abolishing why, priority is the product

Environment takes a back seat as we oow and ahh at the object

Water and oil are now united by money

Never mixed, now ain’t that funny

Sit in a room and look behind the labels

You’ll realize that their stories are short lived fables

Knowledge is essential yet understanding is deeper

To a place where the price of success is cheaper

Open your eyes as you succeed

Eventually you’ll see that you’ve broke the mold

There’s one less cycle you’ll need to repeat

Don’t be fooled by smoke screens and mirrors

Remember who you are and the struggles you’ve seen

That have made you the person the world has grown to see
